This question has been haunting me for a long time. As I mentioned in the last post, we could try to define freedom, but I’ll leave that to you for self-reflection. You’ll probably come up with countless interpretations, versions, and shades — which is completely normal. Everything we think or say passes through the filter of our experiences. No one’s vision can be separated from the story of that unique life.
Take a moment to let that sink in. Only you know what you’ve been through. Only you know the sensations, the challenges, the failures and victories — everything that brought you to this very moment.
So, where am I heading with this? Simply this: what is right for me may be wrong for you, and vice versa. Only you can know what fits your path. And here’s where things get complex.
Imagine a society where ideologies and beliefs make people think their truth is somehow “truer” than anyone else’s version of reality. Funny, right? Well… not so much. With over 8 billion people on this planet, most of us naturally look for groups to belong to. It’s primitive, yes, but also very human — and, yes, kind of comforting.
Here’s the catch: what if someone with not-so-noble intentions decides to use this basic need against us? (Spoiler alert: they already have. Many times. And yes, they’re still at it.)
So, who is manipulating whom? Complicated. Let’s assume this: if someone else tries to dictate what you should think, feel, or believe, it’s rarely for your own good. If you’re not the first factor in the equation of what’s right for you, something is off.
From parents, school, social groups, mass media, and culture in general, we are taught how to behave, what to do or avoid, what’s good and bad, and how to fit into a standard, functional human model. What if we are all potential victims of this subtle sabotage of our true nature?
I have news for you: we are. Everyone is. No escape, no exceptions. From the moment we exist, we are taught what to be and become — even before birth, arguably. There’s no way out.
Well, not immediately at least.
There’s a saying I’ve always liked and practiced: instead of adding knowledge, ideas, and concepts to your mind, start peeling away the layers that have been imposed on you. Sounds scary? Maybe. Until you try it. It’s like tasting a new food you’ve never seen before — suspicious, hesitant, afraid. What if I don’t like it? What if it hurts? Can I go back? Is it worth it?
These are natural questions. We are designed to weigh risks far more than potential advantages, so resistance to change is normal.
Now, try changing the question: What if this is truly game-changing? What if it’s the only way to discover who I really am? What if no one has told me because it’s dangerous to those who want me predictable and manageable?
This is your freedom at stake. And as a living, unique, and crucial part of this incredible puzzle called life, don’t miss the opportunity of a lifetime. The time is now. You have the power to choose. You can experience the magnificent journey of becoming yourself — fully, truly.
Take the leap. Take the chance. Freedom has been waiting on the other side all along — sipping its tea, calmly wondering when we’d finally show up. Enjoy the ride.
Stay aware, stay free…love!
Simone
